I’m Matt, I’m tall, and I have very curly hair.  And if this blog is any indication, I am very weird.

Is that.. is that a picture from a magazine?  No, that’s just me, and that’s how I always look.

Just kidding.  I usually always look like this.  Stressed and unkempt.

I’m 21 and I’m a fourth year university student at the University of Toronto Mississauga.  I should be gearing up for graduation, but I have no idea where my major in English and minors in Professional Writing & Communication and Cinema Studies will get me.  I’m a first time don with UTM’s Student Housing and Residence Life Staff, situated in the townhouses with a rad bunch of first year students who look to me when their computers don’t connect to the internet or when their roommate gets locked in the bathroom.  True story.

If you were to guess that I love reading books, love writing, and love watching movies based on my field of study, you would be absolutely correct.  If I was able to go to school for watching a ton of television shows, too, I’d be in heaven.  I call myself a writer although I’ve been struggling with producing something I’ll be eternally proud of, but I just keep on typing.

My favourite TV shows are:

  • Parks & Recreation
  • Game of Thrones
  • Saturday Night Live
  • True Blood even though it’s downright ridiculous now
  • Dexter
  • American Horror Story even though it gives me nightmares
  • The Walking Dead
  • Arrested Development
  • Survivor, and I have watched every single season

I’m very serious about my television.  And my favourite movies include:

  • Kill Bill
  • The Dark Knight & The Dark Knight Rises
  • the X-Men franchise even though they’re all terrible except for First Class
  • Bridesmaids
  • Scream
  • Moulin Rouge!
  • Fight Club
  • Titanic

And about a hundred more.

And I’m the biggest Lady Gaga fan on the face of the earth.  I’ve seen her live three times and am seeing her for a fourth time in February.  PAWS UP.

My blog, Confessions of a Paranoid Neurotic, works like a sort of journal in which I detail the very weird personal ticks I have and usually keep to myself.  While I’m not clinically diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder, I’ve been told I’m borderline, and it doesn’t help that I’m very pessimistic and I’m very paranoid and I’m (five bucks if you guess what comes next) very neurotic about everything.  I enjoy the following:

  • lists
  • organization
  • when my food doesn’t touch on my plate
  • drawing connected triangles in the margins of my notebooks, but my pen mustn’t ever retrace the same line twice
  • alphabetizing everything

I hope, at the very least, my writings bring about a smile on your face; while I don’t often like to disclose the weird things I have and do to anyone, I can fully understand that many of them are downright ridiculous and humourous, so I hope that what I talk about is funny, or, perhaps, relatable to you and your weird habits, too!
